25 Rural Roads in Phagwara to Be Revamped for ₹11.33 Cr

PHAGWARA, May 26 — In a significant move to strengthen rural infrastructure and reduce urban traffic bottlenecks, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the renovation of 25 key link roads in Phagwara constituency at a cost of ₹11.33 crore.

The initiative, under the state government’s push for inclusive regional development, is set to upgrade connectivity across several villages and streamline movement toward Phagwara city.

“Improved connectivity in rural areas will ensure smoother and safer travel for residents while helping ease congestion on Phagwara’s urban roads,” Chief Minister Mann said. He added that the project is a part of his government’s commitment to balanced regional progress and transparent governance.

Joginder Singh Mann, Aam Aadmi Party’s Phagwara constituency in-charge, noted that the upgrades are vital to improving everyday life in the surrounding belt. “This is part of the broader vision for rural upliftment and sustainable development,” he said.

The project includes several high-value rural routes. Among them:

  • Ranipur to Bhakriana road: ₹89.96 lakh
  • Hadiabad to Narangshahpur: ₹61.16 lakh
  • GT Road (Phagwara) to Darvesh village: ₹22.62 lakh
  • Nakodar Road to Sunra link: ₹11.13 lakh
  • Kanshi Nagar to Nangal Majha: ₹51.46 lakh
  • Khurampur via Dhak Palahi to GT Road: ₹1.89 crore
  • Hoshiarpur Road (Phagwara) to Jagpalpur: ₹1.38 crore

Other notable allocations include:

  • Rehana Jattan to Lotera: ₹62.42 lakh
  • Palahi link from Hoshiarpur Road: ₹48.81 lakh
  • GT Road to Jagatpur Jattan: ₹61.83 lakh
  • Seekri to Jagpalpur: ₹62.71 lakh
  • Rawalpindi to Sangatpur: ₹80.01 lakh
  • GT Road via Nangal to Rurhkan Kalan: ₹54.95 lakh

Joginder Singh Mann added that several other roads are also under consideration as part of a wider rural connectivity overhaul. “These works are not isolated repairs — they reflect a sustained investment in rural resilience,” he said.

Chief Minister Mann reiterated that the state government remains focused on delivering infrastructure that directly impacts daily life, saying, “Our aim is not just roads, but real change in the lives of people across Phagwara.”
