Mahendragarh, June 2 —Four young men were killed in a devastating road accident near Unhani village on the Mahendragarh-Kanina road around 2 a.m. on the night of Sunday and Monday. The victims, all friends, were returning to Gurugram from a family ceremony when their car collided with a dumper truck.

According to police, the car was reportedly speeding when the driver lost control near a canal, where the road was damaged and large construction tiles were placed. The vehicle veered off course and slammed into a dumper moving ahead, killing all occupants on the spot.

Station House Officer Rakesh Kumar of the Mahendragarh police said, “The car lost control due to broken road conditions and loose tiles near the canal. It crashed head-on into the dumper. The vehicle was completely mangled.”

The deceased were identified as Gaurav and Sachin of Sikopur village in Gurugram, Kanwarpal from Farukhnagar, and Ankit from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The four had traveled to Nimbehera village to attend a kuan poojan (well-worship) ceremony for Gaurav’s cousin.

Emergency responders used a crane to lift the wreckage and hydraulic cutters to extract the bodies, police said. The remains were sent to the civil hospital in Mahendragarh for post-mortem examination.

Authorities have begun a formal investigation into the crash. “We are looking into the road conditions and seeking statements from eyewitnesses,” said SHO Kumar.

The sudden tragedy has sent shockwaves through the victims’ families, plunging their communities into mourning.
