Body:
Rohtak, October 10 —Three people were killed when a car carrying family members from Jind rammed into a stationary truck on National Highway 152D near Meham in Haryana’s Rohtak district on Friday morning, police said.

The victims were identified as Krishna (60) and her nephew Kirat (24), both residents of Jind, and Sachin (27) from Sonepat. A fourth occupant, Rakesh Kumar, sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the local civil hospital.

According to Meham station house officer Subhash Singh, the family was returning from Jaipur to Jind after collecting the body of Krishna’s younger sister and Kirat’s mother, Jogender, who had died on duty in Rajasthan Police on Thursday.

The deceased were part of a convoy that included an ambulance carrying Jogender’s body. The car, following the ambulance, reportedly lost control and crashed into a parked truck along the highway near Meham.

“Three of the occupants were declared brought dead at the hospital, while one is undergoing treatment,” SHO Singh said.

Sachin, who also worked with the Rajasthan Police, had accompanied the family to Jaipur to facilitate the transportation of Jogender’s body.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and are verifying whether poor visibility or fatigue from the overnight journey contributed to the crash.
