Nuh, Jan 26: Police in Nuh have initiated a search for a young man who allegedly attacked his mother with a knife following her recent remarriage. The victim, a 35-year-old resident of Palwal district, was targeted at her new home in Bhat Colony where she had moved less than two weeks prior.
The assault left the woman with significant wounds on her limbs, necessitating urgent care at Mandi Khera hospital. Local reports indicate the woman had transitioned to her new life in Pinangawa after leaving her previous household, a move that reportedly caused friction with her children from her first marriage.
“The victim’s family is yet to lodge a complaint, and an FIR will be registered soon,” Jitendra Rana, DSP Punhana, said. He added that efforts are on to nab the accused who remains at large. The officer mentioned that the department is treating the case as a family dispute that escalated into physical violence.
Community members stated that the woman’s first husband was kept in the dark about her plans until the marriage was finalised. Following her relocation to the rented house in Pinangawa, her eldest son tracked her down. The authorities have been tasked with securing the area and ensuring the safety of the victim as she undergoes treatment for her injuries.
