Hyderabad/Chandigarh, March 1: Punjab has secured the prestigious Digital Excellence Award for its pioneering tech-driven governance and paperless administrative reforms. The award was presented to the Director of Governance Reforms and Information Technology at the Technology Sabha 2026, an assembly of national technology leaders and policymakers.

The state’s success is attributed to a series of digital interventions designed to restore public trust in the administrative system. Minister Aman Arora declared that the government is prioritizing technology to ensure efficiency and seamless delivery of services. He asserted that these reforms are empowering citizens by making the system more accessible and transparent.

Under the current digital roadmap, the state has successfully onboarded field staff and Patwaris onto a unified platform. This shift has enabled the processing of over 1.2 million applications online with high efficiency. Furthermore, the M-Sewa and Connect Punjab platforms provide residents with a robust grievance redressal system and real-time tracking of their requests.

“This digital transformation is not just about technology; it is about restoring the trust of the people in the system,” Minister Arora maintained. He stated that the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” scheme remains a revolutionary step, offering hundreds of services through a simple telephonic helpline.

Director Vishesh Sarangal affirmed that the administration is now focused on the next phase of its digital journey. He stated that the state is working to eliminate red tape entirely by utilizing advanced technology to automate income, residence, and caste certificate issuance. Officials noted that the award serves as motivation to continue refining these digital tools for the common man.
