Minab Airstrike is violation of international law: Anandpur Sahib MP

Calls for full accountability on girls' school strike in Minab

by TheReportingTimes

Anandpur Sahib March 5: MP Malvinder Singh Kang has called for full accountability following the reported deaths of more than 160 children in a US-Israeli airstrike on a girls’ school in Minab.

The Member of Parliament declared that the shredding of children in their classrooms is a “blatant violation” of humanitarian principles that protect civilian institutions during conflicts. He maintained that the incident demands more than just words, asserting the need for a thorough and transparent probe into the circumstances that led to such an immense tragedy. Mr. Kang affirmed that the global community cannot remain silent as “stolen futures” become a moral stain on international relations.

He asserted that the operations leading to the slaughter of innocents must be stopped immediately to prevent further loss of life. The MP stated that his thoughts remain with the families in Minab who are facing the unimaginable loss of their daughters.

The strike in Minab has drawn widespread condemnation from global organizations, including UNESCO and human rights activists. Reports suggest that the Shajareh Tayyebeh school was demolished during a wave of airstrikes launched at the start of the conflict. While the Pentagon has maintained that the United States does not deliberately target schools, the high casualty count has sparked a global debate over the legality of the offensive. International experts have said that schools are granted special protection under the Geneva Convention, and any attack on such facilities requires an impartial investigation.
