Patiala, April 10: Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora has declared that Punjab is emerging as a preferred destination for investors due to people-centric reforms and robust infrastructure planning. During a meeting attended by Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and various industrial representatives, Arora asserted that the New Industrial Policy 2026 is designed to provide significant relief to the private sector by encouraging the development of parks containing both large and small plots.

The minister affirmed that the government is on track to finish a ₹1300 crore road construction project across urban Punjab by next month. He stated that these improvements are part of a broader goal to enhance the state’s logistical capabilities. Arora declared that the new Industrial Park Policy would allow real estate developers to work alongside entrepreneurs, fostering a more dynamic environment for investment.

Arora took the opportunity to warn against the distribution of fake seeds, asserting that the government will not tolerate activities that jeopardize the livelihood of farmers. He maintained that the administration stands ready to provide all necessary assistance to the agricultural community in the event of losses. The minister also noted that the inclusion of service sectors like healthcare and tourism in the industrial policy would further diversify the state’s economic landscape.

Regarding energy, Arora affirmed that recent successes in the solar sector are a direct result of the power board’s new tendering processes. He declared that Punjab’s initiatives are receiving appreciation from other states, moving the region toward new milestones of progress. The meeting concluded with a resolution of several local industrial grievances on the spot, as Arora maintained that direct interaction with stakeholders is essential for effective governance.
