Multiple Workers Trapped After Industrial Explosion

Critical injuries reported at Bahadurgarh adhesive plant following collapse of two-story building

BAHADURGARH, MAY 22  — A major industrial explosion destroyed a chemical production unit in Jhajjar district on Friday afternoon, leaving more than six laborers injured and forcing emergency teams to dig through heavy rubble for missing staff.

The incident occurred inside a facility manufacturing adhesive items within the Modern Industrial Estate Part-B sector. The force of the detonation triggered a complete failure of the building’s roof, causing a fire and prompting panic across adjacent manufacturing units where the sound was heard from a distance.

“As per eyewitness accounts, a boiler explosion appears to be the reason behind this tragic incident,” DCP Mayank Mishra stated during an on-site inspection. He affirmed that while specialized disaster units are systematically searching the debris field, the exact number of individuals trapped inside remains unconfirmed.

Initial field logs indicated that roughly 10 employees were working inside the production hall when the machinery failed, while several others managed to escape because they were stationed outside the primary perimeter. First responders pulled four severely burned survivors from the wreckage, securing their immediate transfer to specialized emergency wards in Rohtak.

Municipal fire departments from surrounding regions deployed six tenders to control the chemical-fed flames. Civil administration teams stated that security cordons will remain active around the factory premises until engineers can verify the stability of the remaining structural pillars and finish clearing the site.
