Amritsar, Sept 23: As part of continuous measures against illegal drug trade, Amritsar Police targeted the Patti Bagge Wali locality during a coordinated search operation conducted in the early hours of Wednesday. The initiative involved personnel from the East Sub-Division and Zone-3 teams.
DCP Jaskaranjit Singh Teja asserted that action was initiated against 13 individuals following targeted checks. Two cases were registered under the NDPS Act, with officers arresting the accused individuals on the spot.
Along with law enforcement actions, five individuals exhibiting signs of addiction were transferred to de-addiction facilities for clinical treatment and recovery assistance. Officials declared that intelligence regarding local supply channels is being actively compiled, adding that search drives across high-risk zones will persist to prevent illicit activities.
