Chandigarh, Oct 5: Punjab is set to consider holding its winter assembly session in late October, offering a dedicated platform to address key agrarian issues and statutory proposals.
Government representatives affirmed that the state Cabinet will gather to review the proposed October 23 to October 27 timeline for the Vidhan Sabha session. The move aligns with previous assurances offered to farmer representatives by Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian during their September discussions, where state officials committed to introducing union grievances into the legislative agenda.
The legislative schedule is slated to include reviews of state water sharing frameworks alongside deliberations on resolutions related to agricultural regulations and resource management laws. Officials declared that the state remains focused on ensuring all administrative procedures and policy matters are evaluated thoroughly during the upcoming session.
