Police employ aerial surveillance and widespread detentions

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, Oct 10: Security protocols across the national capital reached heightened levels as airport security teams moved to restrain key demonstration figures, including Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Rana, immediately following their flight arrival. The airport interventions formed part of a wider enforcement strategy that included residential restrictions and the holding of roughly two hundred prospective attendees attempting to access central gathering areas. District security divisions conducted widespread preventive operations, bringing over six hundred individuals into custody across fifteen administrative sectors, while surveillance drones monitored transit routes toward restricted zones.

The extensive enforcement actions prompted an immediate legal challenge in the Supreme Court regarding public mobility and infrastructure access. Petitioner Shailendra Mani Tripathi initiated a plea seeking contempt action against Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and relevant administrative leaders, citing ongoing closures across the Delhi Metro network. The legal submission maintained that widespread station shutdowns persisted in contravention of earlier judicial observations, creating significant public inconvenience and restricting normal transit movement throughout the capital.
