Chandigarh, Oct 23: Students from Faridkot gained firsthand insight into the state’s legislative framework during a special visit to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann engaged with the visiting delegation to explain how laws are debated, budgets are passed, and elected representatives remain accountable to the public.

During the interaction, Chief Minister Mann emphasized that young people represent Punjab’s greatest strength and assured them that state recruitment now strictly rewards merit over political backing. “Public employment in Punjab is being provided on merit, giving deserving candidates a fair opportunity to serve the state,” Chief Minister Mann remarked, adding that dedication and capability can unlock opportunities for every young citizen regardless of background.

The Chief Minister also briefed the students on key state healthcare guarantees, specifically the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana offering cashless health insurance up to ₹10 lakh per eligible family. Reflecting on his own career and early election defeat, he urged the youth never to let temporary setbacks weaken their resolve, advising them to work sincerely toward their dreams without making excuses.
