Snowfall in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 27: Authorities in Kashmir have intensified efforts to minimize disruption as snowfall blankets the region, including Srinagar. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, stated that preparations are in place to ensure smooth operations and public convenience.

Speaking to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bidhuri emphasized the administration’s proactive approach, saying, “We are closely monitoring the situation. Deputy Commissioners, department heads, and other officials have been instructed to remain on high alert.”

He further highlighted that snow clearance equipment has been deployed, with directives issued to maintain essential services without interruptions. “Our entire team is fully mobilized,” he added.

Snowfall began in the southern and central parts of the valley this afternoon, with forecasts indicating intermittent spells are likely to persist until Saturday.
