by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, Nov 12 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a high-level security meeting following the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that has so far claimed 12 lives, officials said.

Top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau, and National Investigation Agency attended the meeting, which reviewed the preliminary probe and security preparedness in the capital.

Sources said Shah directed agencies to ensure a “coordinated and swift investigation” and to enhance surveillance across major cities in light of the incident.

Delhi Police have filed a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act. Raids are being carried out in various parts of Delhi and adjoining states as investigators attempt to trace the source of the explosives and the network behind the attack.

The capital remains on high alert with intensified patrolling near sensitive installations, transport hubs, and public places.

Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the vicinity of the Red Fort metro station to identify suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the explosion.
