Arora Seeks Accountability on Punjab Issues

Union Home Minister urged to address economic grievances at Moga

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH 15— AAP Punjab President Aman Arora has called upon Union Home Minister Amit Shah to move beyond “hollow slogans” and address specific financial and social grievances during his visit to the state. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Arora presented eight points of concern ranging from the LPG crisis to the industrial impact of tax holidays in neighboring states.

The AAP leader stated that the Union Government’s domestic policies have led to a significant crisis in LPG availability, resulting in long queues and public distress. He asserted that the current situation reflects a failure in managing essential commodity prices and international trade relations.

“The visit of the Home Minister should not be reduced to mere jumlas,” Arora affirmed. He declared that the Central Government must explain why it is replacing the MGNREGA scheme with a new framework, which he maintained could leave millions of rural laborers in a state of uncertainty.

On the industrial front, Arora noted that tax concessions provided to neighboring states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have disadvantaged Punjab’s own trade sectors. He also stated that while the Punjab Government is fighting a determined war against drugs, the Centre must do more to stop the influx of narcotics through international borders and Gujarat ports. Arora concluded by stating that the BJP leadership has remained silent on these critical issues for too long and must provide a transparent roadmap for Punjab’s development.
