Chandigarh, Feb 27: Following the acquittal of AAP’s top leadership by the court, Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that the truth has finally prevailed over a “cheap political conspiracy.” In a detailed reaction on Friday, Bains declared that the noise surrounding the alleged liquor scam has been silenced by the lack of any recovered evidence or solid legal basis.
The Minister maintained that the investigating agencies were utilized as political instruments to target Arvind Kejriwal’s rising popularity. He asserted that the opposition’s narrative of a multi-crore scam fell flat during judicial scrutiny. Bains further stated that the treatment of the leaders during the investigative process was a departure from standard political conduct, noting that health concerns were overlooked during their time in custody.
“The court’s verdict has delivered a resounding slap to these dictatorial forces,” Bains affirmed during his address. He stated that the party’s work in building world-class hospitals and schools was what the opposition truly sought to penalize. He maintained that the grace of the Almighty and the strength of the judicial system ensured that justice was served to the leaders who had dedicated themselves to public service.
Regarding the upcoming political contests, Bains asserted that the party’s momentum in Punjab is stronger than ever. He declared that the AAP would shatter its own previous records in the 2027 Assembly polls. The Minister concluded by stating that the verdict has cleared the air, allowing the government to continue its focus on developmental projects with renewed vigor and public support.
