BJP Protets In Mandi, Demands Deportation of Pakistani Nationals

Mandi, May 5:— In a forceful demonstration of its national security stance, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday demanded immediate identification and deportation of Pakistani nationals residing in Himachal Pradesh.

The protest, led by BJP state general secretary Bihari Lal Sharma, culminated with the submission of a memorandum addressed to the Governor and Chief Minister via the Deputy Commissioner.

Addressing reporters, Sharma condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people.

He alleged the attack was carried out under the direction of the Pakistani government and its intelligence services.

“The Central Government has taken decisive steps in response — from suspending the Indus Waters Treaty to downgrading diplomatic ties with Pakistan,” Sharma said.

“Union Home Minister Amit Shah has instructed all states to identify and deport Pakistani nationals. But the Himachal Pradesh government has done nothing so far.”

Sharma issued a stern warning to the state government, stating, “If immediate action is not taken to deport Pakistani nationals, the BJP will launch a statewide agitation.”

Echoing the demand, Balh MLA Inder Singh Gandhi said, “All Pakistani nationals, legal or illegal, must be deported. National security cannot be compromised.”

The protest saw participation from several senior leaders, including former minister Anil Sharma, district BJP president Nihal Chand Sharma, Zila Parishad president Pal Verma, and Mayor Virender Bhatt.

Together, they called on the state government to align with the Centre’s uncompromising approach on internal security.

The BJP’s protest served as both a show of strength and a message to the state leadership, urging them to take visible and immediate steps in support of national security directives issued by the Centre.
