PANCHKULA/Chandigarh, Jan 17— The Haryana government has disbursed 858 crore in welfare benefits, marking a major push toward inclusive governance and women’s empowerment. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini confirmed that the latest payout includes 18.56 crore in gas cylinder subsidies under the Har Ghar Har Grihani Yojana, providing relief to over 6 lakh households for the month of October.
Under the revamped Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, over 8.6 lakh women received a combined 181 crore on Saturday. The Chief Minister noted that the program has seen massive engagement through its dedicated mobile application, with nearly one million applicants registered by the end of last year.
“We are making continuous efforts to make agriculture a profitable sector so that the children of farmers remain involved,” Saini mentioned while discussing the 659 crore allocated to the farming community.
The agricultural funds included 15.75 crore for the ‘Meri Pani – Meri Virasat’ water conservation plan and 20 crore in price difference compensation for vegetable growers. Officials mentioned that the state is committed to clearing the remaining fuel subsidy amounts for November and December in the coming weeks.
Authorities noted that the expansion of the Lado Lakshmi scheme to middle-income families earning up to 1.80 lakh will bring thousands of additional daughters and sisters under the safety net. The Chief Minister directly said that the integration of educational milestones and nutritional health into the welfare criteria would encourage better outcomes for children in government institutions.
