CBI Files Closure Report in Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi/Mumbai, March 22 — The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, concluding that no evidence of foul play was found. The agency cleared actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family of all allegations.

Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020, triggering widespread speculation and multiple theories. The CBI took over the case in August 2020 following allegations by Rajput’s father against Chakraborty. In response, Chakraborty had filed counter-claims against the actor’s family.

After four years of investigation, officials said no proof was found indicating that anyone had abetted Rajput’s death by suicide. The closure report covers both cases and formally exonerates Chakraborty.
