Chandigarh nights turn colder as days stay mild

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, Dec 3: A marked rise in nighttime chill coupled with mild daytime conditions defined the weather across the Tricity on Tuesday. Chandigarh recorded 24.2°C as the day’s high and 6.6°C as the low, an almost 18-degree spread, the IMD said in its bulletin.

Both Mohali and Panchkula followed a similar pattern. Mohali reached 22.6°C, while Panchkula touched 25.1°C, with night temperatures remaining in the single digits. Officials noted that the cold was sharper than in parts of Haryana and Punjab, where shallow fog and localised cold wave conditions were reported, especially in Punjab.

Minimum temperatures in the Tricity stayed 1–4°C below normal, indicating an early arrival of winter-like conditions.

The IMD expects clear to partly cloudy skies through the next five days. Night temperatures are likely to remain between 6°C and 8°C, while daytime temperatures should hold steady between 23°C and 25°C, maintaining the region’s strong day-night temperature contrast.
