CHANDIGARH, Sept 3— All schools, colleges and institutions of higher and technical education in Chandigarh will remain closed until September 7 due to persistent heavy rainfall, the administration announced Wednesday.
Officials said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard students, faculty and staff. Citizens have been urged to remain alert, follow safety advisories and avoid non-essential travel while the city continues to grapple with inclement weather.
Authorities added that further decisions on reopening will be taken depending on how the situation unfolds in the coming days.
