Manimajra, June 8 — A 20-year-old man was allegedly abducted from his home in Pipliwala Town and violently assaulted by a group of six, including a female accomplice, in what police suspect was a fallout of a personal dispute involving a girl.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on June 5 while the victim, Rajat, was asleep. In his complaint to the Manimajra police, Rajat stated that five men and a woman arrived at his residence, began banging on the door, and shouted abuses. When Rajat’s brother, Anand, opened the gate, the group forced their way inside and began beating Rajat.
“When I tried to stop them, they turned on me too,” Anand told the police.
According to the FIR, the attackers dragged Rajat into the street, where he was beaten in full public view before being shoved into a waiting car. Inside the vehicle, while being driven toward Daria, Rajat was further assaulted with an iron rod, suffering injuries to his face, back, head, and abdomen.
Despite the injuries, Rajat managed to escape from his captors and sought medical help at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. His father contacted the police control room (PCR) during the ordeal.
Police have registered a case under Sections 190, 191(2), 191(3), 115(2), 351(2), and 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the named accused — Rajiv, Jagesh, Satender, Ranjeet — their female accomplice, and one unidentified person.
“The motive appears to be personal. We are verifying details related to the woman mentioned in the complaint,” said a Manimajra police official, adding that the investigation is underway and arrests are likely soon.
