CHANDIGARH, May 23 — Chitkara University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ludhiana Angels Network to strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation on campus, the university announced Friday.

The agreement was signed under the leadership of Shibananda Dash, CEO of Ludhiana Angels Network, and aims to create a pipeline of investor-ready, high-impact student ventures by combining resources from both academia and industry.

“At Chitkara University, we believe that innovation and entrepreneurship are essential pillars of education,” said Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor of the university. “This partnership with Ludhiana Angels Network will enable our students to translate their ideas into viable ventures by giving them the right mentorship and access to funding.”

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED), the university’s core hub for nurturing innovation, formalised the agreement, underscoring Chitkara’s commitment to building a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“This collaboration marks a pivotal milestone in our efforts to empower student entrepreneurs through structured mentorship, strategic networking, and access to angel investment networks,” said Piyush Garg, vice-president of CEED. “We aim to transform bold ideas into scalable, real-world solutions.”

Through the MoU, student-led startups will benefit from domain-specific guidance, expert mentoring, and potential capital from Ludhiana Angels Network—a collective of investors committed to advancing early-stage ventures and fostering economic growth.

The initiative reinforces Chitkara University’s broader mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry, positioning its startups to better meet market demands and attract investor confidence.

Ludhiana Angels Network is known for its active role in supporting innovation and providing early-stage funding and mentorship to budding entrepreneurs across the region.
