Malwa, April 4: A surprise visit by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to the BFUHS Advanced Cancer Institute on Saturday has set the stage for a massive technological and administrative upgrade. The Chief Minister reviewed current patient care standards and met with stakeholders to assess the ground realities of the facility.

Mann announced a shift toward cutting-edge medical solutions, specifically highlighting the upcoming arrival of robotic surgery units. He stated that the government’s focus is on “hand-holding” the institute to reach its full potential rather than searching for administrative faults.

“The purpose of the visit is to support and strengthen the institution rather than to find faults,” the Chief Minister maintained. He noted that the facility already serves as a critical healthcare pillar for the Malwa area but requires further strengthening to become a state-wide leader.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister identified a need for a larger workforce to handle the patient load. He affirmed that necessary steps are being initiated to bolster the staff count immediately.

“Necessary steps will be taken for introducing robotic surgery in this hospital at the earliest,” Mann asserted. He declared that providing high-standard treatment is a priority that will see no compromise.

The Chief Minister noted that beneficiaries of various state and central health schemes would continue to receive priority care at the modernized center. He stated that the Punjab government remains dedicated to ensuring that every citizen has access to top-tier medical services without financial hardship.
