Dakshin Marg Stretch Shut for 7 Days

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, June 2 — The UT Administration has ordered a temporary closure of one carriageway of Dakshin Marg for a week to facilitate road repair operations, officials said Sunday.

The section of the road between Sector 25 and Sector 25 (W) will remain inaccessible to traffic through June 8 as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades by the UT Engineering Department.

“This closure is necessary to ensure the repair work is completed safely and efficiently,” a senior official with the department stated. “We urge commuters to plan alternate routes and cooperate during the period.”

This is the second time this stretch of Dakshin Marg has been affected by repair works in recent weeks. From May 11 to May 20, the opposite carriageway—running toward Sector 38—was similarly shut to allow maintenance.

The current closure is part of a broader effort to improve road conditions along one of the city’s busiest arterial routes.
