Gobindgarh, April 28 — Desh Bhagat University in Mandi Gobindgarh has announced a major initiative to assist families affected by the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, offering full scholarships and employment options to surviving dependents.
The university said it will waive 100 percent of tuition fees for eligible family members of the victims, enabling them to pursue education across a range of regular programs, including engineering, management, commerce, computer applications, hotel management and humanities.
In addition to educational support, Desh Bhagat University plans to offer employment opportunities in teaching and administrative roles to surviving spouses or other dependent family members, based on their qualifications and experience.
“The university stands as a pillar of support for those who have suffered unimaginable losses,” said Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh.
“With utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility, we offer education and employment opportunities to honor the resilience of these families and help them rebuild their future.”
University officials said the initiative reflects their commitment to standing with affected families not just in words, but through meaningful action aimed at restoring hope and dignity.
Applications for the scholarship and employment program will open soon, and eligibility details will be shared through the university’s official channels, the statement said.
