Gurugram, Feb 22: Gurugram police have apprehended a 19-year-old man for allegedly inflicting life-threatening injuries on his partner during a three-day period of domestic violence. The accused, a resident of Delhi, reportedly attacked the victim after she raised the prospect of marriage during a late-night discussion in their Sector 69 apartment.
The victim’s statement to the police detailed a harrowing experience involving fire and physical assault. She alleged that the suspect used sanitizer to inflict burn injuries on her and used household items, including a metal bottle and a knife, to continue the attack. Authorities affirmed that the youth has been charged with criminal intimidation and sexual intercourse by deceitful means, among other offenses.
The survivor’s mother stated that she was alerted to the situation when her daughter pleaded for help. She noted that the family was devastated to learn of the abuse and the nature of the relationship. “She was in immense pain and begged to be rescued from the situation,” the mother maintained.
DCP Hitesh Yadav declared that the police acted swiftly upon receiving the report and secured the arrest of the suspect. He affirmed that the legal process is moving forward while the student receives advanced medical treatment in Delhi. Officials noted that the case has highlighted the dangers of domestic abuse within unregulated living arrangements and the importance of timely intervention.
