New Delhi, Aug 10: The Delhi Police commenced a strict drive on Sunday targeting illegal parking in the city’s central business district, including Connaught Place and surrounding areas. The initiative seeks to ease traffic congestion and enhance road safety for commuters.
Officers have started issuing fines and towing vehicles found parked in unauthorized zones. “Illegal parking not only disrupts traffic but also creates hazards for pedestrians and emergency vehicles,” said a senior police official. The police have urged motorists to use designated parking lots and follow traffic rules strictly.
The campaign will continue over the next few weeks with increased enforcement and awareness efforts.
