JAMMU/CHANDIGARH, November 19 — The Nagar Kirtan marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji received a heartfelt welcome from Sangat and officials as it made its way from Srinagar to Jammu, completing the first 250 kilometres of its 544-km route.

Starting from Gurdwara Patshahi Chhevin in Srinagar, the procession was greeted at several locations with traditional offerings and langar services. Embroidered rumalas were presented in homage, and arrangements of tea and fruit langar were made for the participants.
Another langar was held later at Qazigund in Anantnag district, organised by the accompanying Sangat.
As the Nagar Kirtan entered Ramban district, the administration welcomed the devotees at Chandarpur with tea and pakora langar. Those present included Deputy Commissioner Alyaz Khan, SSP Traffic Adil Hameed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Charak, ACS Shaukat Mattoo, Additional SP Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and Tehsildar Deep Kumar. The District Gurdwara Management Committee Ramban also participated in the reception.
Officials said the Jammu and Kashmir administration deployed traffic teams, fire services, ambulances and medical staff to ensure a safe and smooth journey for the procession.
The Nagar Kirtan will next proceed from Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Chand Nagar, Jammu, to Pathankot on November 20, before continuing to Hoshiarpur on November 21. It will reach its final destination, Sri Anandpur Sahib, on November 22.
