Direct bus to Mathura-Vrindavan flagged off

Yamunanagar MLA launches affordable service for pilgrims

Yamunanagar, Jan 22: The Haryana State Transport officially commenced a new bus service connecting Yamunanagar to the religious hubs of Mathura and Vrindavan on Thursday.

Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora flagged off the inaugural service, which aims to provide a seamless travel experience for devotees visiting these prominent pilgrimage sites.

The new route will operate via Delhi, Palwal, and Koshikala, offering a direct link that was previously unavailable. MLA Arora noted that the primary objective of this initiative is to ensure safe, convenient, and economical transport for the public. “This initiative is a commendable step towards promoting religious tourism,” the MLA mentioned during the ceremony.

According to the department schedule, the bus is slated to depart from Yamunanagar at 7:30 am, reaching its destination by 4:00 pm. The return journey will commence from Mathura-Vrindavan at 9:30 am, arriving back in Yamunanagar at approximately 6:00 pm. The fare has been set at an affordable rate of Rs 396 for a one-way trip, which calculates to roughly Rs 1 per kilometer.

Several high-ranking officials attended the launch, including Deputy Commissioner Preeti, Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja, and Roadways General Manager Sanjay Rawal. The department also indicated that online booking facilities would be introduced in the near future to further assist passengers.
