Panipat, Nov 21, 2025: A fierce fire broke out at a textile plant in Panipat district on Friday morning, engulfing an entire factory block and forcing labourers to flee as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
According to early reports, the incident occurred at CRG Cotex Private Limited in Balana village, where flames quickly tore through raw stock and finished goods stored inside the premises. Witnesses said the fire spread so rapidly that employees barely had time to react.
“The workers immediately ran outside and informed us,” Fire Safety Officer Gurmail Singh said, adding that the department was alerted without delay. “Six fire tenders have been sent to the location,” he noted, while confirming that teams were on-site attempting to bring the blaze under control.
Officials said firefighters battled thick smoke and high heat as the flames raced across the factory interior. The response teams used multiple streams to contain the fire, though a complete assessment of damage was expected later in the day.
Emergency personnel were still stationed at the site by noon, ensuring that no residual sparks reignited debris. The cause of the fire had not been determined, and authorities said a detailed inquiry would begin once the area cooled enough for inspection.
