Farmers from Rajasthan, Haryana send aid to Punjab flood victims

Chandigarh, September 1, 2025: As floodwaters continue to ravage parts of Punjab, farmers from neighbouring Rajasthan and Haryana have begun sending relief material, underscoring the spirit of unity across state borders.

Gurveer Singh Brar, MLA from Sadulshahar in Rajasthan, said the first consignment of ration and fodder from Chak Mahraj Ka village was dispatched to flood-hit Fazilka district on Monday. “I have appealed to our brethren in Rajasthan to extend help to Punjab. People from Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts are coming forward for this cause,” he said.

Manjit Singh, a farmer from Sriganganagar, echoed the sentiment: “This natural calamity is taking a toll on our fellow farmers in Punjab. We are doing our bit by sending food items and fodder for their livestock.”

Meanwhile, farmers from Ladwa village in Hisar district, Haryana, said tractor-trailers carrying relief material had been sent to Punjab.

Observers noted that the bonds forged during the 2020–21 farmers’ agitation against the now-repealed farm laws are once again driving solidarity across state borders.
