Four repeat drug offenders held

by TheReportingTimes

SOLAN, Dec. 8 — The Solan police on Sunday detained four men identified as repeat heroin traffickers, stepping up their campaign to curb the district’s rising drug problem.

Officials said the detainees — residents of Sirinagar panchayat, Dharampur and Solan town — were placed in preventive custody for three months following repeated involvement in narcotics cases.

“These individuals have been consistently active in heroin supply chains,” Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said. “Under the state-wide drive, we are ensuring that habitual offenders face strict action under the PIT NDPS Act.”

The police said the district has already sent ten habitual offenders to jail this year using the same legal provisions, underscoring a sustained push to dismantle drug networks operating in the region.
