Chandigarh, March 26: The Aam Aadmi Party government marked four years in power on Wednesday with a comprehensive public outreach initiative that saw elected officials engaging with citizens in nearly 1,000 locations. The drive focused on the delivery of welfare services and the administration’s “Rangla Punjab” vision, with leaders stating that the government is prioritizing last-mile delivery over simple policy announcements.

In Malout, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur announced the strengthening of women’s empowerment through the “Mawan-Dhian Satkar Yojana.” She declared that starting this Baisakhi, women will receive monthly financial support of ₹1,000, while those from Scheduled Caste communities will receive ₹1,500. She maintained that free bus travel has already significantly enhanced mobility for women across the state.

The success of the healthcare model was detailed by Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, who asserted that the network of Aam Aadmi Clinics has successfully treated millions. He noted that the provision of ₹10 lakh in health cover ensures that “the poor no longer need to take loans for medical care.”

Regarding infrastructure and safety, Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal stated that the administration has overseen the construction of 40,000 kilometers of roads and thousands of playgrounds and gyms. He affirmed that the state is working toward a level of development not seen since independence.

Minister Mohinder Bhagat, speaking in Jalandhar West, noted that the government has secured the interests of the farming community. He stated that farmers now receive free electricity during the day and that crop payments are settled in bank accounts within 24 hours of procurement.

Addressing the law-and-order front, Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak affirmed that the arrest of over 92,000 drug smugglers proves the government’s commitment to a drug-free state. He declared that the 65,000 jobs provided to youth were handled with total transparency, ensuring that merit remained the sole criterion for employment.
