Chandigarh, Dec 2: The Punjab government has transferred DIG Harmanbir Gill from the Ferozepur Range and posted him with the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Jalandhar, days after questions surfaced over alleged wrongful cases against Akali leaders during the Tarn Taran bypoll.
An official communication said Gill must assume his new assignment without delay. “Officers are directed to join their new place of posting immediately,” the order directly said.
DIG Snehdeep Sharma has been assigned additional charge of the Ferozepur Range. A senior police official said the arrangement ensures “smooth functioning” while the department reviews decisions taken during the bypoll.
