CHANDIGARH, October 14: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was honoured with the Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award by the Global Punjabi Association for his contributions to the welfare of the Sikh community in the state.
On the occasion, the CM paid obeisance to Guru Tegh Bahadur, noting that the Guru symbolized the protection of humanity and religious freedom. “All Sikh Gurus have taught lessons of service, equality, and courage,” he said, emphasizing the enduring values of the Sikh faith.
Saini highlighted Haryana’s deep historical connection with the Sikh Gurus, pointing out that over 30 gurdwaras have been established across the state at sites visited by the Gurus. He added that inspired by Sikh traditions, the Haryana government continues to work with a spirit of service for the welfare of all communities.
