Haryanvi Model Sheetal Chaudhry Found Dead in Canal with Throat Slit

by TheReportingTimes

Sonepat, June 16 – The body of 23-year-old Sheetal Chaudhry, a Panipat-based model and Haryanvi music artist, was recovered from Reliance Canal near Khanda village in Sonepat’s Kharkhauda area on Monday, police said. Her throat was slit, indicating a possible case of murder.

Sonepat ACP (Headquarters) Ajit Singh confirmed the recovery and said a probe was underway. “We received information about a woman’s body in the canal. A team reached the spot and began investigation,” he said.

Sheetal, also known as Simmy Chaudhry, had gone missing on June 14. Her sister, Neha, had lodged a missing person’s complaint in Panipat, stating that Sheetal was last seen leaving for a music album shoot at Ahar village.

In her complaint, Neha alleged that Sheetal’s former employer, Sunil — a married man with two children — had reached the shoot location and assaulted Sheetal. “He had been pressuring her to marry him. She told me over a video call that he beat her up. Then the call got disconnected, and we couldn’t reach her after that,” Neha said.

Neha claimed that Sheetal had earlier worked at Sunil’s hotel in Karnal but left six months ago. “Even after she quit, he kept chasing her,” she said.

The day before Sheetal’s body was found, Sunil’s car reportedly fell into a canal in Delhi. He was rescued by passers-by and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Panipat.

“We suspect Sunil killed my sister and is now creating a false story,” Neha alleged, demanding a thorough investigation.

Police are awaiting the post-mortem report and are likely to question Sunil once he is medically fit.
