Shimla, Nov 24: Three persons were arrested in Theog town of Shimla district after police recovered heroin and cash from a building following a tip-off, authorities said on Monday. Police stated that the information suggested that drugs were being peddled and consumed in Ward No. 3, not far from the Post Office.
Officers said that when the premises were raided, 4.2 grams of heroin along with ₹10,000 were found in possession of the three accused. The arrested individuals were identified as 24-year-old Vishal alias Vicky of Shilu village, 29-year-old Ayush Sharma of Ward No. 3 in Theog, and 23-year-old Tanvi Thakur of Vani village in Chopal tehsil.
A senior officer said, “The heroin was recovered during a search based on prior information received by the team.” He also mentioned that the cash had been seized as evidence and will form part of the investigation.
Police registered a case under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Officials said the probe would continue to determine whether more individuals were involved in the alleged drug network.
