Shimla, Nov 15, 2025: A severe cold wave continued to sweep through the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh, with several pockets in Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur reporting subzero temperatures through the night. Officials said the mercury fell by 2°C to 6°C at many stations, signalling one of the sharpest declines of the season so far.

Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti district remained the coldest place in the state, logging –6.6°C. Other high-altitude areas, including Keylong (–2.9°C) and Kukumseri (–4.1°C), also remained frozen. Despite the chill, the state saw mostly dry and clear conditions, and large parts of Himachal enjoyed bright sunshine through the day.

The Meteorological Department said minimum temperatures across the state ranged from –6°C to 12°C, while maximum temperatures stayed between 11°C and 28°C. Una once again emerged as the warmest location with a maximum of 27°C.

Shimla’s temperature stood at 9°C, while Dharamsala recorded 9.8°C. Tourist destinations reported sharp drops as well—Manali dipped to 2.7°C, Solan to 3°C, and Bhuntar to 3.1°C. Mid-hill stations such as Hamirpur (5.8°C), Kangra (5.8°C), Mandi (5.7°C) and Sundernagar (4.1°C) also reported colder-than-usual nights.

Kalpa recorded 1°C, Narkanda 4.8°C and Kufri 7.5°C, while Bilaspur (8.6°C), Nahan (8.4°C), Kasauli (11.4°C) and Paonta Sahib (12°C) remained comparatively milder.
Meteorologists noted that the dry spell is expected to continue statewide until November 21, with temperatures likely to remain broadly stable.
