India Urges US Action Against SFJ, Pannun

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, March 18 – India has called on the United States to take action against the banned Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and its founder, US-based lawyer Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who faces 104 criminal cases in India, including eight lodged by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The SFJ has been linked to anti-India activities, including threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, according to government officials.

The demand was raised during a meeting between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in Delhi on Monday.

Singh and Gabbard discussed key aspects of defence cooperation and intelligence sharing.

Following the meeting, Singh posted on X, “Happy to have met the US Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi. We discussed a wide range of issues which include defence and information sharing, aiming to further deepen the India-US partnership.”

Gabbard, who has already met NSA Doval to discuss intelligence-sharing mechanisms, is scheduled to speak at the Raisina Dialogue, a global forum on geopolitics and geoeconomics hosted by India
