IndiGo Crew Member Booked for Alleged Theft

by TheReportingTimes

Bengaluru, April 5: A crew member on IndiGo flight 6E 661 has been booked for allegedly stealing a gold chain from a five-year-old child during a flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru.

The incident came to light after Priyanka Mukherjee, a passenger on the flight, lodged an FIR in Bengaluru alleging that a flight attendant, identified as Aditi Ashwini Sharma, took her child to the washroom, after which the gold chain—valued at Rs 80,000—went missing.

“My child was wearing the chain when the crew member took them to the washroom. After they returned, it had vanished,” Mukherjee stated in her complaint.

The missing jewellery, a 20-gram gold chain, was reportedly worn by one of Mukherjee’s two children travelling with her.

Bengaluru police have initiated an investigation into the matter. IndiGo, in response, issued a statement confirming awareness of the case.

“We are aware of a recent incident involving a staff member on flight 6E 661 from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru, regarding a concern raised by our customer. We take such matters extremely seriously and are providing full support and cooperation to the relevant authorities in carrying out the investigations,” the airline said.
