Hoshiarpur, March 14: Eminent painter and scholar Dr Jaspal S has successfully placed Hoshiarpur on the global cultural map following a string of international accolades. His recent “Kala Mitra” Award and success at the “Fresh Wave” All-India exhibition have highlighted the region’s growing influence in the contemporary art world.
Dr Jaspal’s creative reach spans multiple continents, including recent showcases in Argentina, Italy, Greece, and China. Critics noted that his visual style utilizes vibrant forms to represent life and freedom. At the recent “Art Coast” exhibition, his paintings earned him the Outstanding Artist Award, adding to a career decorated with academic and creative milestones.
Reflecting on the inspirations behind his “Child Series” and other works, Dr Jaspal affirmed that forcing unnatural dimensions on a child’s development leads to an imbalance. He also declared that women serve as the platform for all societal transformations. Regarding the environment, he maintained that living in harmony with nature is the only viable path forward for humanity.
“Reconnecting with our roots is the best way to live in harmony,” the artist asserted while discussing his philosophical approach to his craft.
With a double Master’s degree and a doctorate from Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr Jaspal has spent three decades serving as an educator and resource person for national seminars.
