MOHALI, July 13— A 25-year-old man from Sangrur died by suicide late Friday night at his rented accommodation in C-Block, Aerocity, police said. The deceased was employed with a local IT firm and had been living with friends.
According to investigators, his friends grew alarmed when he remained unresponsive behind a locked door for several hours. After repeated knocks went unanswered, they alerted the police.
A police team arrived at the scene and forced entry into the room, where they found the man unresponsive. He was declared dead on the spot.
Though no suicide note was found, the man had recently confided in his mother about struggling with depression following the death of his father, officials said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, and police are continuing their investigation to establish the exact cause and circumstances of the death.
