Zirakpur, Sept 8 — Thieves targeted a flat in Savitri Enclave Society on VIP Road, escaping with jewellery and cash worth several lakh after breaking into the locked residence. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and begun an investigation.
The complaint was lodged by Ankush Sharma, a resident of House No. 9, C-Park View, Savitri Enclave. Sharma told police that he and his wife, who both work in private banking, and his mother, employed in a Chandigarh government office, were away at work when the theft took place.
“When we returned home around 9 pm, the main door was open. Inside, belongings were scattered across the floor and the cupboard lock had been broken,” Sharma said in his statement.
