New Delhi/Bengaluru, March 30: A joint police operation has led to the capture of a Bengaluru native accused of dispatching more than 1,100 hoax bomb threats to government installations and schools throughout India. Delhi Police took Srinivas Louis into custody this past Saturday in Mysuru, where he had been living in a rented house.

The 47-year-old suspect is allegedly responsible for a recent surge in threatening communications that targeted the Delhi Assembly and multiple high courts. Police records indicate that Louis holds a postgraduate degree but has no current employment. He had been living with his mother at the time of his apprehension.

The accused confessed to sending over 1,100 threat messages across the country via emails and other communication platforms, a senior officer affirmed. The officer also maintained that the suspect appeared to be dealing with significant mental stress during the period the messages were sent.

This legal action addresses a wave of panic that had gripped several states, resulting in the filing of numerous First Information Reports. The scale of the hoax campaign required federal and state agencies to work in tandem to trace the digital footprint back to the Karnataka-based suspect.

Police are now working to determine if any other individuals were involved or if the suspect acted entirely alone while utilizing various communication tools to bypass security protocols.
