Bhiwani, July 14 –To empower the Prajapati potter community, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday announced that land will be allotted in 2,000 villages across the state within the next 15 days to ensure easier access to clay for pottery work.
Speaking at the state-level Maharaja Daksha Prajapati Jayanti celebrations in Bhiwani, Saini said khasra numbers and other land details will be shared with beneficiaries to facilitate swift handover. Letters granting land rights were also distributed during the event.
“Pottery is not just a livelihood but a reflection of cultural heritage and the vision of the Prajapati community,” Saini said.
Under the Haryana Rural Industrial Scheme, Prajapati artisans setting up micro-enterprises will receive a 15% subsidy on machinery and building construction costs in B, C, and D category areas. Additionally, the state will offer a 7% annual interest subsidy on term loans—up to ₹8 lakh per year—for a period of seven years.
The Chief Minister also credited the Mati Kala Board for promoting traditional clay artistry and supporting local artisans through state initiatives.
Saini used the occasion to reaffirm the government’s broader commitment to Class-A backward communities. He cited ongoing welfare programs, including 8% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions, a ₹51,000 Shagun for daughters’ marriages, ₹4,000 in annual aid under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme, and free coaching for competitive exams.
The day also saw the inauguration and foundation laying of 19 development projects worth ₹234.38 crore across Bhiwani. In addition, ₹1.29 crore was announced for dharamshala construction and renovation for community use.
“The government is determined to bring equitable development to every corner of Haryana,” Saini said, adding that the schemes aim to “uplift traditional skills while ensuring social and financial inclusion.”
