Chennai, June 22: A London-bound international flight that had to return shortly after takeoff due to an unspecified “operational reason” later departed for its destination following a delay of nearly four hours, airport officials said on Sunday.
The aircraft, which was carrying 209 passengers, turned back soon after taking off. Officials did not disclose the nature of the issue that led to the return.
“The flight resumed its journey to London around 11.15 am,” an airport official confirmed, adding that all passengers remained safe and on board during the delay.
No further details were provided about the operational cause behind the precautionary return.
