Ludhiana/Chandigarh, Jan 31: Prabhjot Singh Sachdeva is prepared to transition from the bar to the bench after securing the first rank in the Higher Judicial Service exams for both Punjab and Haryana.

With nearly a decade and a half of experience in the Ludhiana District Courts, Sachdeva’s selection as an Additional District and Sessions Judge follows a rigorous examination process in two neighboring states.

The achievement has been met with widespread praise from the local legal community. Leaders of the District Bar Association noted that Sachdeva’s performance serves as an inspiration to practicing lawyers.

Sachdeva attributed the rare double victory to a combination of spiritual blessings and the mentorship he received early in his career. He specifically dedicated the milestone to the late advocate Madan Lal Sharma, who first encouraged him to eye a seat in the judicial service.

“It was a result of perseverance rather than chance,” Sachdeva said while discussing his preparation.

The advocate’s academic journey began at Guru Nanak International Public School and continued through SCD Government College, where he consistently ranked at the top of his classes. He later specialized in law with degrees from Panjab University and Kurukshetra University.

His family, including his parents and his brother Gurjot Singh Sachdeva, remained pillars of support during his transition from active practice to judicial candidate. As he prepares to take his oath, Sachdeva remains focused on the ethical demands of his new position.

“I pledge to serve the institution with integrity, sincerity, and a strong sense of duty,” Sachdeva said.
