Amritsar, Sep 18: A joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force led to the arrest of an alleged drug smuggler with more than 25 kg of heroin in Amritsar on Wednesday night.
Officials said the accused, a resident of Beharwal village in Amritsar, was intercepted while riding a motorcycle. During the search, the joint team recovered a large bag containing 23 packets of heroin weighing 25.9 kg.
A pistol and two magazines were also seized from his possession, a BSF official said.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
