CHANDIGARH, August 5 — A 35-year-old man died under unexplained circumstances while driving his car in Sector 8 on Monday evening, prompting an investigation by local police.
According to officials, the deceased—originally from Himachal Pradesh—had been living with his wife and daughter in a rented accommodation in the same sector.
He was driving when his vehicle suddenly came to a stop, and he appeared to lose consciousness at the wheel. Passers-by noticed the car parked oddly and found the man slumped in the driver’s seat. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
“A preliminary assessment suggests he may have suffered a heart attack, but we are not ruling out other possibilities,” said a police officer at the scene. “We are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to establish a clearer timeline and circumstances leading to his death.”
The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further investigations are underway.
